We belive in humanity.
We invest in people, businesses and organisations to create a shared future of fun, struggle and meaning.
We are an investment boutique
In a nutshell

We sell or we acquire projects, companies and businesses for our clients. We manage deals and acquisitions from start to finish and beyond. From shopping for targets or buyers to making sure everybody gets what we bargained for, to – in some cases even – integrating the business. We even teach you about our approach, if you’re interested.
Dealmaking

We evaluate, search, negotiate, draft, negotiate some more and strike a deal. A good deal depends on the context. Sometimes it makes perfect sense to buy above value and sometimes you should leave the best bargain on the table. Sometimes it takes a year and sometimes only a day. We make the best deal you can have.
Investment

We consider all our work investment, because we are committed and we invest our time into you or your business. We work with clients that are worth the investment especially in terms of values and impact. We also invest in ideas and businesses on our own or leading a group of investors. We are obsessed with mitigating risk.
We are..

1

Purpose driven
We are an organisation of meaning and purpose. We want to be a part of creating a great shared future, so we focus on projects that lead us into that future. We may not put a whole dent in the universe but we definitely want to contribute.

2

Essentialists
We only focus on the important and essential few things that create impact. We avoid everything else.

3

Fun
We want to make things fun and have fun all the while. Serious professionals don’t need to be reserved, sceptical or sour. There is a certain charm in play and fun. There is no meaningful work and there are no breakthroughs without joy in the process. We make fun an essential part of our work.

4

Ever better
We want to be better every day, every week, every year, every millenium ;-). We try things and learn. Small things because there is an enormous and infinitely small difference between good and great. We go for great.

5

Struggle forward
Struggle is good. Struggle means we are moving forward. We are getting better. We are solving problems. We are rising up to our true potential. Where happiness is heads struggle is tails. Two sides of the same coin. Struggle is born of challenges. Struggle is essential. Pointless debate, digging trenches, working for the drawer, polishing the last 1% for ages to reach perfection or striving for a totally risk-less position isn’t struggle, it’s just fucking around.

6

Big Picture – Little Details
The big picture and the little details are both important. We look at the big picture so that we know where we're headed. All the while we obsess with the little details and whys because the big picture emerges from them. Without pinning down the little details the end results are at best just mediocre or not something we actually wanted or liked to create, or even worse, something unexpectedly horrific.

7

Credo of Rippling Impact
The effects of our actions are like ripples on the lake. Actions are in the middle and the closer the ripple the bigger the impact is in five concentric circles. The first circle of impact is our immediate environment, we want to positively affect our co-workers, the representatives of our clients whom we collaborate with, our families, our friends and our network. The second circle of impact are the effects on the organisations we get in touch with and on the environment in which they and we operate and live. The third circle is the effect that the organisations, we work with, have on people and the environment in general. The fourth circle is the effect on the broad network we touch with our work and human connections. The fifth and last circle, as the result of the previous four, is our impact on humanity and the future. There are no outer ripples without the inner ones.

Hey. I’m Daniel. The founder and leader of mellon investment boutique. At the moment mellon is a solopreneurship. (I know this word doesn’t exist, but from now on it does.) On projects I work together with a team of senior experts bespoke to the project’s specific needs. I aim to grow the company to a partnership but we’re not quite there yet. My expertise is in mergers and acquisitions with a strong evaluation, corporate finance and investment background. I acquired negotiation and presentation through coaching top executives for high impact pitches and presentations like convincing an international board about investment opportunities or extraordinary resource allocation. I got good at sales through co-founding and running the highest profile sales conference in Central-Europe, SalesTech Europe. I helped design and launch a couple of tech startups. I have and extraordinarily broad set of business experiences both in terms of phase and industry. I like to go broad and deep.

My ideas about business and the world have sprung from contemplation and reason. I have a strong opinion on most things like crypto and blockchain, good leadership, power, money, responsibility or value investment. I love to have an intelligent conversation to refine my ideas and change my opinion. If you’re interested, you can check out my thoughts, ideas, rants and writings here.
